Day 11 of the 30-day Coachhouse Final Quest

June 2, 2022. I am a woman not to be trifled with.

I am not cheap, I am not fussy, I am not demanding, but I do insist that people in my world raise themselves up to the level that could and should be expected of them. It's helpful that I know just enough about a lot of things to make my eye keen to the possibilities.

When I recently experienced a case of a contractor that stated that foibles in their job 'can be fixed with caulk' while the rest of the job looked impeccable, I wasn't having it. You can come back and do it, or I will do it, and I will pay you $200 less on your final total. They are now expected at 11am tomorrow to finish the job they started.

When I was recently told by the garage door installer that it was "my way or the highway" I asked if he wanted me to help him pack his shit up, or if he would prefer to do it himself. The company he works (worked?) for is coming out at 11am tomorrow to finish the job.

All this being said, providing folks don't bust my chops with nonsense, I consider myself the most gracious of hosts, and the most generous of General Contractors. I get out there and move stuff for them/with them, take it well with costs run willy nilly because of materials, or the need for an extra thing-a-ma-bob, and get it when scheduled get tough and I have to be sent 2 days back to accommodate.

Like in so many other things in life- Communication is key!
