Day 3 of the 30-day Coachhouse Final quest

Wednesday, May 25, 2022

Behold! The color of my countertops. Don't be scared, folks- Step right up and take a look. Imagine this in the pristine white enclave of my perfectly Parisienne kitchen. In this case, by Parisienne, I meet little. By little I mean big enough for a small kitchen table to invite a friend, or maybe 2 over for coffee. I also mean big enough to have about 48 linear inches of countertop (see above) and a killer pantry that will house everything from kitchen aids to curry, wine glasses to a washing machine. It's going to be fabulous. I am using the same red (left over from the sheet) for the counter in the bathroom. The counter will be small, but OH THE STORAGE in there. And the bathtub...forgedabouit.

I wanted to wait to order this ( have been looking for red 'solid surface', which basically means knock off Corian) for ages, and since my pockets are basically full of nothing much more than lint right now, after having paid for the first 90% of the place, I figured I would wait till we were close. Now we're close! I can't wait to pick it up.

The final push is going on credit, Louis. Just like you say.

The rest of the day was mostly internet research, paperwork and scheduling. In the scheduling part, I realized that most of what needs to be done at this point is mine to do. I don't have the "bricklayers next Tuesday, electric Wednesday-Friday, roofer Monday, and HVAC on Thursday, or whenever he shows up" anymore. It's more like "Nicolle- pantry Monday, door jambs Tuesday, Wednesday if needed, kitchen cabinet bases Thursday- the weekend". Now if I can stick to the schedule like I had hoped the others would. That would be grand!

Looking forward to another day in the trenches tomorrow, waiting for the drywall guy to return, sanding and staining brickmold, Garage door estimate between 10-12pm, and getting in to install the rest of the pantry.

Can't wait. Must sleep.
